Wattsun proud supplier for Coldplay's world tour

The famous pop band Coldplay is currently on a world tour, aiming to be as sustainable as possible, and we are incredibly proud to assist them in their endeavor! As a supplier, we provide them with our portable battery systems. Throughout the Music of the Spheres World Tour, our battery systems are being utilized at shows worldwide for the storage and use of sustainable energy.

Especially for Coldplay's world tour, we have developed a smart charger that allows our batteries to be charged by the audience. This happens during the concerts through cycling fans and dancing crowds on Energy Floors' kinetic floors. As energy is generated, it is directly stored in the Wattsun modules, which can then be used in the next show.

During the concert, the audience is informed about the amount of power being generated. Koen Olieslagers, co-owner of Wattsun, explains that multiple modules per kinetic floor are charged during each show. But more importantly, "Fans can see firsthand that they are generating energy by dancing. This awareness is highly valuable, both now and in the future."

The battery system by Wattsun, which provides an alternative to polluting generators, has received a special design featuring images of futuristic planets to align with the Music of the Spheres theme of the British band. Co-owner Bart Hendriks takes pride in the collaboration. "First and foremost, because six years ago, we could not have dreamed of partnering with such major entities at this stage. Being a supplier for the world's biggest band is absolutely amazing. Additionally, it offers a unique opportunity to introduce people worldwide to our solution for making sustainable energy available anytime and anywhere."

Wattsun has been a supplier for Coldplay since the US leg of the tour, which kicked off on Friday, May 6, 2022, with a concert in Dallas. Throughout the world tour, the band travels to all corners of the globe. Our battery systems are also being used here in the Netherlands during the concerts at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam (July 15th to 19th, 2023).
