Wattsun® x NTP

Contractor NTP operates in the construction and infrastructure sector, focusing on roads, soil, water, energy, and consulting. In all projects, the company designs the living environment in a safe, functional, and sustainable manner. With the help of Wattsun, NTP is now taking the next step.

Generating, storing, and using electricity on-site is now possible.
The challenge

In the Autonomous Sewer Projects Arnhem, NTP is replacing sewers in the middle of residential areas in Arnhem. It’s a major task that moves weekly from one street or neighborhood to another. As the work shifts, so does the power plan. Since NTP, like Wattsun, prioritizes sustainability, the company is looking for a mobile and emission-free solution. The main challenges are:

  • Making the work more sustainable
  • Generating energy on changing off-grid locations
  • Reducing emissions and noise for the surrounding area

The solution

During the Autonomous Sewer Projects Arnhem, NTP uses a self-sufficient site hut. A ‘regular’ site hut converted by Wattsun. Two solar panels of 405Wh each are mounted on the roof. These panels are then connected to the Wattsun Solarkit, allowing the energy from the sun to be stored and used directly in the lunchroom.

100%

Green power

NTP generates its own electricity and uses it in and around the site hut.

0%

CO2 and Nitrogen

NTP's self-sufficient site huts are completely emission-free.

3 modules

Wattsun Dock & 2 Packs

NTP stores up to 4.6 kilowatts of energy in the site hut, providing enough power even on cloudy days.

Impact

Thanks to the collaboration, NTP now operates on multiple projects with self-sufficient and emissions-free site hut trailers converted by Wattsun. Throughout most of the year, the batteries from Wattsun, in this case, one Wattsun Dock and two Wattsun Packs, are charged via the solar panels on the roof of the site hut trailers. On the darkest, wettest days of the year, it is also possible to easily remove the mobile power stations from the site hut and charge them at a location with grid power.

By exchanging the generator for Wattsun’s battery system, NTP creates a clean and quiet working environment for employees and the surroundings. Brewing coffee, charging equipment, or laying a cable reel for work outside the trailer can now be done with self-generated, green energy.

"We consciously chose Wattsun as a partner who, like us, is sustainable at every step."
