Thanks to our new partner Melis Logistics, our products will now be transported in a more sustainable manner.

Invest in environmentally friendly trucks
Sustainability at every step

We must move towards a fossil-free world together. Not tomorrow, but today. We want to make a substantial contribution to this goal. Not only by making sustainable energy mobile and available everywhere but also by making the right choices in our business operations. From the research phase to production, from material selection to design, from collaborations to transportation: we strive for sustainability at every step. Thanks to our new partner Melis Logistics, our products will now be transported in a more sustainable manner.

Sustainable vision

Melis Logistics is one of the first Dutch transport companies to choose to switch to electric trucks. The company consciously invests in environmentally friendly trucks and demonstrates that the transport and logistics industry can play a significant role in reducing CO2 emissions. This conscious choice and the courage to lead the way in the energy transition align perfectly with Wattsun’s vision. Logistics & Supply Chain Manager Joop Reitsma on choosing Melis: “I am delighted with this collaboration. Melis and Wattsun share the same entrepreneurial spirit and flair for doing business.”

Sustainable collaboration

Melis will now transport our pallet shipments in Western Europe. “In the longer term, we want to continue growing together in the rest of Europe. We share the same ambition in that regard. Additionally, the way Melis thinks in terms of solutions, such as offering storage options, is decisive for this hopefully long-term collaboration.”

Co-owner Bart Hendriks also considers Melis the ideal partner. “Melis is really focused on the future. With the question: how can we operate as sustainably as possible? They are growing rapidly and, like us, continue to pioneer. They dare to invest in sustainable trucks as one of the first logistics service providers, even though they might be able to make more money in the short term by continuing to use old vehicles. That’s commendable.”

Melis owner Marwin Melis on the collaboration: “As an Arnhem-based company, we are proud to add such a beautiful client, who is committed to sustainability, to our customer base! Here’s to a great, sustainable collaboration.”

Also, parcels sent green

Earlier at Wattsun, we made the choice to send and receive our parcels locally through the parcel delivery service Groene Rijders from Arnhem. They transport all our parcel shipments using emission-free means such as electric cargo bikes between our office and the distribution center. This saves CO2 emissions in Arnhem because there is no need for vans to drive through the city to deliver one or two parcels at a time.

Reitsma considers the collaboration with local partners a pleasant advantage. “Both Melis and Groene Rijders are close to our office in Industriepark Kleefse Waard. Collaborating with local partners has the advantage of short lines. Literally. This makes our production chain as short and sustainable as possible.”
