Backup power and resilience at the core of ExpoRIC: how Wattsun supports emergency services

During ExpoRIC 2026, emergency services and safety regions focused on a pressing question: how do you remain operational during prolonged power outages? At the outdoor area of the Wattsun Experience Center, we demonstrated how mobile battery systems provide reliable backup power, exactly when it matters most.

Wattsun at ExpoRIC: in conversation with the safety sector

This year, Wattsun was present at ExpoRIC (eRIC), the leading trade fair for the Dutch emergency and safety sector. From our Experience Center, we connected with existing partners such as Defence, the fire brigade and the Red Cross, while also building valuable new relationships.

The growing challenge of energy security

A key theme at the event was energy security and resilience. More and more organizations within the safety chain are facing the challenge of remaining self-sufficient for at least 72 hours during power outages.

This includes situations where communication systems, lighting or critical equipment must continue operating without relying on the electricity grid.

Mobile battery systems as backup power solutions

Our mobile battery systems align closely with these needs. They offer a silent, sustainable and immediately deployable solution for backup power in the field.

Whether it concerns a crisis location, a temporary command post or support during emergency situations, reliability and flexibility are key.

Working together on future-proof energy solutions

During ExpoRIC, we noticed a growing demand for these types of solutions. We are currently in discussions with several safety regions to explore how they can future-proof their energy supply.

Didn’t attend ExpoRIC but curious about what backup power from Wattsun could mean for your organization?
